BETTER KNOWN AS TAPR.

I WILL TURN IT OVER TO DR. ANA RUSH, WHO WILL WALK US THROUGH THIS.

THEN WE CAN HEAR FROM DELVALLE ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.

TONIGHT I AM PRESENTING THE TAPR REPORT.

[SPANISH] THIS IS A BREAKDOWN OF OUR STUDENT DEMOGRAPHICS, WITH THE MAJORITY OF STUDENTS, PREDOMINANTLY HISPANIC, FOLLOWED BY AFRICAN AMERICAN.

[SPANISH] THE THREE AREAS THAT I'M GOING TO BE COVERING TODAY ARE THE ACCREDITATION, THE TEXAS ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE REPORT, AND THE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY RATING SYSTEM.

I WILL NOT BE DISCUSSING ITEMS THAT ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE LAWSUITS.

>> DELVALLE ISD IS ONE OF OVER 100 DISTRICTS THAT ENTERED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY BECAUSE OF THEIR UNLAWFUL DEVELOPMENT OF THE ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM.

DUE TO THE LAWSUIT, WHICH WE WERE ACTUALLY ABLE TO PAUSE THE WHOLE ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM BECAUSE OF OUR LAWSUIT, WE CANNOT PRESENT THE ACTUAL DATA OR RATINGS FROM THE TAPR REPORT.

BECAUSE PART OF THE LAWSUIT IS THAT TEA IS NOT ALLOWED TO ANNOUNCE OR RELEASE THE DATA FROM ANY OF THE DISTRICTS THAT SUED THEM.

SO IF WE SHARED THAT DATA, WE WOULD ACTUALLY BE VIOLATING OUR OWN LAWSUIT.

>> WHICH IS WHY DR. RUSH SAID THAT SHE'LL SHARE SOME OF THE REPORTS BUT NOT ALL OF IT. GO FOR IT.

>> DELVALLE ISD EARN ACCREDITATION STATUS.

[SPANISH] THESE ARE THE MAJOR CHANGES THAT WE'VE HAD RELATED TO THE STATE ACCOUNTABILITY AND THE ASSESSMENT.

THE STAR WE DESIGN, WE HAVE ALL ONLINE QUESTIONS, THE NEW QUESTION TYPES, THE CROSS CURRICULAR PASSAGES, THE EVIDENCE BASED WRITING, AND THE NEW ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM.

[SPANISH] FROM 2017 TO NOW, WE HAVE CONSISTENTLY INCREASED PERFORMANCE.

WE'VE HAD PEOPLE JOIN THE DISTRICT AND GOOD PEOPLE RETIRE AND SO ON.

BUT SOMETHING THAT HAS REMAINED THE SAME IS DR. TIELLE'S VISION.

I KNOW THAT DR. TIELLE, THE TEAM OR PRINCIPALS OR TEACHERS, EVERYONE HAS WORKED THE COMMUNITY, EVERYONE HAS WORKED REALLY HARD TO IMPLEMENT THIS VISION, WHICH IS INCREASE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.

WHEN YOU LOOK FROM 2017 TO NOW, WE HAVE INCREASED OUR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND WE'RE LOOKING THIS YEAR FOR OUR GOAL TO BEAT THAT.

EVEN WITH THE NEW CHANGES, WE'RE WORKING TOWARDS THAT.

WE HAVE BEEN VISITING THE CAMPUSES, DR. TIELLE HAS DONE TRAININGS, WE HAVE BEEN TO CAMPUSES, WE HAVE EVERYTHING SET AND WE ARE GOING TO FINISH STRONG.

>> DR. RUSH HAS STATED THAT THE GOAL IS TO REACH 81% AND I SAID LET'S JUST GO FOR 82% TO STAY EXACTLY THE SAME.

THAT IS OUR GOAL, BETWEEN 81-82%.

>> WHEN WE LOOK AT COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS, I'M REALLY PROUD THAT WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET TO 85% OF COLLEGE AND CAREER READY.

[SPANISH] THIS IS A 25 INCREASE FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR.

[SPANISH] WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR DROPOUT RATES, WE ARE LOWER THAN THE STATE IN THE REGION.

[SPANISH] WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR GRADUATION RATES, WE ARE HIGHER THAN THE STATE IN THE REGION.

[SPANISH] WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS COLLEGE READY TEST, WE ARE HIGHER THAN THE STATE IN THE REGION.

[SPANISH] WHEN WE LOOK AT DUAL CREDIT COURSES, WE ARE HIGHER THAN THE STATE IN THE REGION.

[SPANISH] WHEN WE LOOK AT ASSOCIATE DEGREES, [SPANISH] WE ARE BETTER THAN THE STATE IN THE REGION BY A LOT.

[SPANISH] THANK YOU, EVERYONE, BECAUSE EVERYONE HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THESE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT WE HAVE HERE IN THE DISTRICT.

WHEN WE LOOK AT THIS, THIS IS A TRACKER THAT TEA HAS FOR POST SECONDARY STUDENTS.

HOWEVER, THEY'RE NOT ABLE TO TRACK 57% OF OUR STUDENTS BECAUSE ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED IS IF A STUDENT HAS TWO LAST NAMES, BUT IN COLLEGE THEY ONLY TAKE ONE, THEY'RE NOT ABLE TO HAVE THAT MATCH, SO WE ARE TRACKING OR STATS IN A DIFFERENT WAY, STARTING THIS YEAR, WHICH IS THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED IN THE COLLEGE.

THIS IS HOW MUCH WE HAVE INCREASED.

[SPANISH] THEN WE HAVE NOVEMBER.

[SPANISH] WE ARE SEEING THAT INCREASE OF THE STUDENTS APPLYING TO COLLEGE.

WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR DISCIPLINE REPORT AND WE LOOK AT FELONY, WE ARE AT STATISTICALLY ZERO.

[SPANISH] NOW I'M GOING TO JUMP TO THE HUMAN RESOURCES.

WHEN WE LOOK AT THE DISTRICT OR ETHNIC DISTRIBUTION, WE'RE DIVERSE THAN THE STATE, WHEN WE LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCE OR PERCENTAGE OF BEGINNER TEACHERS, IT'S LOWER THAN THE STATE.

WE'RE SEEING HERE THAT THE TEACHERS ARE STAYING AND THAT WE'RE RETAINING THOSE TEACHERS, AND THAT WE'RE ABLE TO RECRUIT TEACHERS THAT HAVE A LOT MORE EXPERIENCE.

HOW ARE WE DOING THAT? BECAUSE WE HAVE THE BEST SALARIES.

IN EACH OF THE AREAS THAT YOU SEE HERE, I KNOW I LOVE PRESENTING THIS, AND THESE ARE THE AREAS WHEN YOU SEE BEGINNING TEACHERS AND THE EXPERIENCE IN EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY, WE'RE OUTPERFORMING THE STATE IN SALARIES.

THE LAST PART IS THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT.

THIS IS FROM 2022-2023.

WE RECEIVED AN A RATING ON OUR FINANCIAL DATA.

THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT CAME TO MIND IS THAT I FELT LIKE IT MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT CONFUSING BETWEEN GENERAL FUNDS AND ALL FUNDS.

FOR EXAMPLE, I THINK TOTAL EXPENDITURES SAID THAT IN ALL FUNDS WE WERE SPENDING OVER $30,000 A STUDENT, AND FOR GENERAL FUNDS,

IT WAS LIKE 10,000 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, IN THAT BALLPARK.

I'M JUST WONDERING IF THERE MIGHT BE A CLARIFICATION ABOUT WHY THERE'S SUCH A LARGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE TWO NUMBERS FOR FOLKS THAT MIGHT SEE THAT AND BE A LITTLE BIT CONFUSED.

THE ONLY REASON I'M ASKING ABOUT IT IS BECAUSE I THINK THAT WE TALK A LOT ABOUT HOW WE NEED MORE RESOURCES FROM THE STATE, AND THAT'S A REALLY LARGE NUMBER AND I THINK PEOPLE MIGHT BE CONFUSED ABOUT IT?

>> THE OLD FUNDS, IT'LL VARY FROM DISTRICT TO DISTRICT.

THE REASON OURS IS SO HIGH, OR IT LOOKS VERY HIGH COMPARED TO THE GENERAL FUND, IT'S BECAUSE IT INCLUDES A BOND.

NOT EVERY DISTRICT PASSES BONDS, AND THE DISTRICT LAST YEAR PASSED A $300 MILLION BOND.

WE ISSUED 280 MILLION OF THAT, SO THAT'S INCLUDED THERE WHEN WE LOOK AT ALL GOVERNMENTAL FUNDS.

>> THAT'S VERY HELPFUL. IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT HIGH IN YEARS TO COME IF WE'RE NOT DOING BOND WORK.

>> IT WILL NOT EVERY YEAR.

IF WE DON'T HAVE A NEW ISSUANCE, IT'LL START DECREASING.

IF WE START MAKING PAYMENTS ON THAT AND THAT FUND BALANCE, THE CAPITAL PROJECT STARTS DECREASING.

WE CURRENTLY BUILDING THE EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL.

WE ALSO HAVE THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL THAT'S ALSO GOING UP.

WE ARE IN A DISTRICT WHERE WE ALREADY HAVE TEACHER SHORTAGE.

WITH THE FACT THAT WE HAVE THESE THINGS ALSO COMING UP, MY CONCERN IS THAT WE WILL SPREAD OURSELF TOO THIN.

THAT WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE EACH COMPONENT THE FULL RESOURCES THAT THEY DESERVE FOR OUR STUDENTS.

ONE OTHER THING IS ALSO TRANSPORTATION IS ALSO STRETCHED THIN.

THERE'S BEEN TIMES LIKE ON THE HIGH SCHOOL, WHEN SCHOOL IS OVER WHERE THERE IS THREE STUDENTS TENDING TO A SEAT WHERE THEY'RE LIKE ALMOST IN THE AISLES THEMSELVES.

LIKE I SAID, APPRECIATE THE SENTIMENT OF WHAT'S TRYING TO BE ACCOMPLISHED, I'D LIKE TO SEE THIS FOCUS ON THINGS THAT WE HAVE GOING ON AT THE MOMENT, GET THOSE UP AND RUNNING FULL CAPACITY, COMPLETELY WORK OUT HOW THINGS ARE GOING TO BE DONE, THE PROCESSES, JUST EVERYTHING INVOLVED IN THAT, THE RESOURCES, THE TEACHERS.

ONCE THAT'S DONE, ONCE EVERY CAMPUS HAS THE TEACHERS THEY NEED, THEN WE CAN START LOOKING TO EXPAND AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GUYS NOTICE THERE'S AT LEAST THREE OR FOUR HUGE APARTMENT COMPLEXES BEING BUILT IN THE DISTRICT RIGHT NOW.

THAT'S GOING TO BE A BIG INFLUX OF NEW PEOPLE MOVING OUT, NEW STUDENTS MOVING OUT, BIG INFLUENCE OF STUDENTS GOING INTO THE SCHOOLS.

MY OPINION ON THIS IS I'D LIKE TO SEE US FOCUS TO THE BASICS ON WHAT WE GOT GOING ON THE STUDENTS THAT WE HAVE, MAKING SURE THAT WE ARE COMPLETELY, REALLY WELL DONE ON WHAT WE HAVE, THE HIGH SCHOOL, THE EARLY COLLEGE, THOSE KIND OF THINGS. THANK YOU.

HONORING IN MEANINGFUL WAYS, THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF DELVALLE.

FUNCTIONING AS A TEAM, YET STAYING TRUE TO YOUR CONSCIENCE.

SPEAKING UP AND SPEAKING OUT AS PART OF YOUR ROLE WITHIN TASBY.

HOLDING YOUR HEAD UP AND NEVER DOWN.

WE ALL KNOW DELVALLE ISD HAS CHANGED A LOT SINCE THE FIRST DECADE OF THE 21ST CENTURY.

THE DISTRICT HAS EXPANDED, LEADERSHIP IS DIFFERENT, MORE OPEN, MORE ENGAGED, MORE INCLUSIVE.

THE WINDS OF POSITIVE CHANGE CAME TO DELVALLE.

EVERY YEAR THE GOVERNOR PROCLAIMS JANUARY AS SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH ACROSS THE STATE.

THE GOAL OF THIS MONTH IS TO BUILD AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE CRUCIAL FUNCTION AN ELECTED BOARD OF TRUSTEES PLAYS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND SCHOOLS.

THE 2024 THEME IS LOCALLY ELECTED COMMUNITY CONNECTED, RECOGNIZING THE WORK THE BOARD LEADS IN THE COMMUNITY TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR STUDENTS.

I THINK THIS THEME REALLY EXEMPLIFIES WHAT THIS BOARD IS AND THAT IS CONNECTED TO OUR COMMUNITY.

THIS YEAR, EACH CAMPUS SUBMITTED VIDEOS FROM STUDENTS AND STAFF THAT WERE ASSEMBLED INTO A VIDEO THAT WE'RE GOING TO SHOW NOW TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR OUR BOARD MEMBERS.

TONIGHT WE ARE SHOWCASING THE EFFORTS OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT AND HOW IT ALIGNS TO THE PROGRESS OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN.

THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT HAS IMPLEMENTED MULTIPLE STRATEGIES TO ADDRESS THE RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION EFFORTS OF THE DISTRICT.

RECRUITMENT EFFORTS INCLUDE STUDENT TEACHERS, RESIDENT TEACHERS, PRINCIPAL RESIDENTS, AND JOB FAIRS.

RETENTION EFFORTS INCLUDE THE NEW TEACHERS THRIVE PROGRAM, TARGETED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FOR SCHOOL LEADERS, AND UPDATES TO THE EXIT SURVEY FORMAT.

DATA IS COLLECTED AND REVIEWED BY THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT TO CONTINUALLY IMPROVE AND ADJUST ACTION PLANS ACCORDINGLY.

AS ALWAYS, WHEN WE START TALKING ABOUT THE STRATEGIC PLAN, WE BRING UP THE MISSION AND THE VISION THAT WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD TO ENSURE THAT THE ACTIONS THAT WE TAKE ON THE STRATEGIC PLAN ARE ALIGNED.

THE VISION OF THE DISTRICT IS TO CREATE A BILITERATE, CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE, ENHANCED ACADEMIC FOUNDATION BY PROVIDING A FUTURE-READY EDUCATION WITH REAL-WORLD OPPORTUNITIES WITH A MISSION THAT STATES TO EMPOWER OUR STUDENTS TO BE CRITICAL THINKERS AND INNOVATIVE WORLD-CLASS VISIONARIES.

LAST MONTH, WE WENT INTO DETAIL WITH EACH OF THE FOUR GOALS, DELINEATING THE PROGRESS THAT THE DISTRICT HAS COLLECTIVELY MADE TOWARDS THEM.

AS A REMINDER, GOAL 1 IS ADDRESSING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS, GOAL 2 INCLUDES THE MAXIMIZING OUR OPPORTUNITIES IN ORDER FOR OUR STUDENTS TO ADAPT AND CONNECT TO A CHANGING WORLD BY INCREASING COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS, GOAL 3, WHICH WILL BE SHOWCASED TONIGHT WITH HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT IS DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING EQUITABLE FACILITIES, STAFFING, AND INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES THAT MEET THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF ALL DVISD STUDENTS AND GOAL 4, WHICH IS ALIGNED WITH THE BRANDING, IMPROVING THE COMMUNICATIONS EFFORTS TO CREATE A CULTURE RESPONSIVE COMMUNICATION TO ENGAGE OUR STUDENTS, PARENTS, STAFF, AND COMMUNITY TO BUILD THE DISTRICT'S BRAND THROUGH MULTIMEDIA PLATFORMS WITH STRATEGIC STORYTELLING AND MESSAGING.

AS NOTED, WE'RE SHOWCASING THE HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT IN GOAL 3.

GOAL 3 STATES THAT THE DISTRICT WILL DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN EQUITABLE FACILITIES, STAFFING, AND INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES THAT MEET THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF ALL DVSD STUDENTS.

THE PROGRESS MEASURE THAT WAS AGREED UPON FOR THE STRATEGIC PLAN COMMITTEE WAS TO MAINTAIN A CULTURE THAT ATTRACTS AND RETAINS HIGH-QUALITY STAFF WHO ARE STUDENT-FOCUSED.

WHEN WE TALK ABOUT DVSD BEING THE LEADER OF INNOVATION, WE'RE GOING TO HIGHLIGHT THE DIFFERENT EVENTS THAT THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT HAS SPEARHEADED.

WE'RE GOING TO START OFF ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT RECRUITMENT, THEN MOVING FORWARD WITH RETAINING TEACHERS.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT HOW OUR DISTRICT RECRUITS, WE DO JOB BEARS.

LAST YEAR, THE DISTRICT ENGAGED IN 16 UNIVERSITY JOB BEARS AND SIX THAT WERE HOUSED INSIDE THE DISTRICT.

PREVIOUSLY, THE DISTRICT HAD BEEN LOCKED ONTO TWO JOB BEARS, ONE IN THE FALL AND ONE IN THE SPRING, AND LAST YEAR THEY BECAME CREATIVE, CREATING SIX JOB FAIRS, WHICH INCREASED THE NUMBER OF TEACHERS AND STAFF THAT THE DISTRICT WAS ABLE TO RECRUIT.

WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE RECRUITMENT, SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT WAS MADE BASED ON THE DISTRICT OF INNOVATION.

IF YOU RECALL ABOUT THIS TIME, LAST YEAR, THE BOARD ADOPT THIS DISTRICT BEING A DISTRICT OF INNOVATION WHEN WE TALKED ABOUT THE HIRING PRACTICES.

THIS ALLOWED THE DISTRICT TO FILL 70 VACANT SPOTS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THERE WITHOUT DISTRICT BEING ADOPTED BY THE BOARD.

AS A REMINDER OF THE DIFFERENT CRITERIA WHERE WE CAN HIRE STAFF BASED ON THE DISTRICT OF INNOVATION CRITERIA IS IF ONE LIVES OUT OF STATE, WHICH MAY ALREADY HAVE A TEACHING CERTIFICATE, A CONTENT AREA DEGREE WHERE ONE MIGHT BE HIGHLY SPECIALIZED, FOR INSTANCE, IN MATHEMATICS.

CTE WORK-RELATED IS WHEN WE FOCUS ON THOSE WITH THE CTE EXPERTISE, WHICH IS GOING TO BE OUR WELDERS, WHICH IS GOING TO BE CONSTRUCTION AND PLANNING, WHERE WE ALL AGREED UPON THAT IT WOULD BE BEST TO HAVE THESE CONTENT HANDS-ON EXPERTS BE LEADING THE HELM OF THE CLASSROOM.

THE MAJORITY OF THE SECOND TO CONTENT AREA DEGREES ARE THOSE WHO ARE GRADUATING WITH AN EDUCATION DEGREE, WHO MIGHT NOT HAVE YET TAKEN THEIR CERTIFICATION.

THE DISTRICT OF INNOVATION ALLOWS THE DISTRICT TO HIRE THESE COLLEGE GRADUATES PRIOR TO TAKING THEIR CERTIFICATION EXAM.

AS WE TALKED ABOUT LAST YEAR, IT'S COSTLY IN ORDER TO ADD THESE CERTIFICATIONS AND TO ACQUIRE THESE CERTIFICATIONS.

AS NOTED ON THE SLIDE, CLOSE TO 70 POSITIONS WERE FILLED BASED ON THE DISTRICT OF INNOVATION CRITERIA.

WHEN WE TALK ABOUT OUR STUDENT-TEACHER PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE IN DELVALLE ISD, WE HAD SIGNIFICANT GROWTH OVER THE LAST YEAR, GOING FROM 14-52.

A SIGNIFICANT REASON WHY WE SEE THE INCREASE IN NUMBER OF STUDENT TEACHERS IS BASED ON WHAT THE DISTRICT OFFERS.

AS NOTED BY DVA EARLIER, WE HAVE AN IMPRESSIVE COMPENSATION PLAN, BUT IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE ALSO HAVE SIGNIFICANT TRAINING THAT WE PROVIDE OUR STUDENT TEACHERS, GO INTO FURTHER DETAIL WITH,

WHICH DOES INCLUDE DELVALLEY UNIVERSITY, AS WELL AS SIGNING DAYS THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT.

AS NOTED ON THE GRAPH '21/'22, THE DISTRICT HAD 14 STUDENT TEACHERS WELL, LAST YEAR, WE TRIPLED THAT NUMBER UP TO 52.

WHEN WE TALK ABOUT OUR ACC TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAM, PREVIOUSLY, DR. TIELLE HAD COLLABORATED WITH PRIOR CHANCELLOR, ACC CHANCELLOR DR. RHODES TO DEVELOP THIS PROGRAM.

DELVALLE ISD PILOTED THE PROGRAM AND IT'S NOW EXPANDED INTO OTHER DISTRICTS.

WHAT MAKES THIS UNIQUE IS THAT IT ALLOWS THE TEACHER RESIDENCIES TO STAY ONE YEAR WITH THE DISTRICT UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF A TEACHER, WHERE THEY SPEND ONE DAY A WEEK COMPLETING THEIR COURSEWORK, AND SPEND THE OTHER FOUR DAYS WITHIN THE DISTRICT BEING MENTORED BY A TEACHER.

HOW THIS DIFFERS FROM A TRADITIONAL TEACHING PROGRAM IS THE TEACHERS WOULD GO AHEAD AND SECURE ALL THEIR COURSES AND THEN GO AHEAD AND FOLLOW THAT WITH A SEMESTER OF STUDENT TEACHING.

WHERE THIS DIFFERS IS THAT WE ALLOW THE TEACHERS TO BE WITH US FOR ONE YEAR, AND AS I NOTED, SPEND ONE DAY A WEEK COMPLETING THEIR COURSEWORK A UNIQUE INNOVATIVE PROGRAM THAT DR. TIELLE CREATED WITH ACC, WHICH, AS I SAID, HAS NOW BEEN REPRODUCED TO OTHER DISTRICTS WITHIN CENTRAL TEXAS.

TO NOTE, THESE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY DEGREED AND THEY ARE SEEKING THEIR TEACHING CERTIFICATION.

AS NOTED, DELVALLEY UNIVERSITY IS UNIQUE TO DELVALLE ISD.

IT ALLOWS ALL STAFF, INCLUDING OUR STUDENT TEACHERS, TO ADDRESS CONTENT AND TEACHING STRATEGIES TO HELP IMPROVE OUR STUDENT TEACHERS.

THIS MAY INCLUDE STRATEGIES ADDRESSING ENGLISH LEARNERS, SHELTERED INSTRUCTION, SPECIAL EDUCATION STRATEGIES, OR ELSE DELVE INTO MORE CONTENT-SPECIFIC MATERIAL.

ONCE AGAIN, DELVALLEY UNIVERSITY IS UNIQUE TO DELVALLEY.

WE NOT ONLY INCLUDE ALL OF OUR STAFF BUT ALSO EXPAND A THREAD FOR OUR STUDENT TEACHERS.

WHAT ELSE IS UNIQUE TO DELVALLEY ID IS THE DELVALLE ISD SIGNING DAY.

LAST YEAR AT THE SIGNING DAY, THERE WERE 19 STUDENT TEACHERS WHO SIGNED LAST YEAR, ACCOMPANIED BY THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS, CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION, AND COOPERATING TEACHERS.

THIS YEAR THE EVENT IS GOING TO BE HELD ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22, AT 4:30 PM AND ALL BOARD MEMBERS WILL BE RECEIVING INVITATIONS TO JOIN US FOR THIS CELEBRATION.

ANOTHER PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE IN DELVALLEY SD FOR RECRUITING PURPOSES IS A MENTORING PROGRAM, THRIVE MENTORING PROGRAM, IN WHICH FIRST AND SECOND-YEAR TEACHERS, MENTORS WORK WITH MENTEES WHERE THEY'RE ENGAGED IN A STRUCTURED PROGRAM THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, WHICH PROVIDES A STRUCTURED PROGRAM WHERE OUR MENTORS CAN EFFECTIVELY MENTOR OUR MENTEES.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PIE GRAPH ON HERE, WHICH DELINEATES 82 RESPONSES, HOW HAS THE THRIVE MENTOR PROGRAM CONTRIBUTED TO THEIR SUCCESS? WE SEE OVERWHELMINGLY WITH 85% OF THOSE WHO RESPONDED SAYING IT HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THEIR SUCCESS.

ANOTHER MEANS THAT WE DO WITH OUR NEW TEACHERS AS WE ASSESS THEM ON THIS COMPRO, OF THE OTHER SURVEYS WE ASK, HOW SUPPORTIVE DO THEY FEEL AS A NEW TEACHER AT THEIR CAMPUS? WITH ONE BEING THE LOWEST, TO SIX BEING THE HIGHEST, OVERWHELMINGLY.

WE SEE THE TEACHERS RESPONDING WITH A FIVE OR SIX OVERWHELMINGLY, THAT THEY DO FEEL SUPPORTED AS A NEW TEACHER AT THEIR CAMPUS.

ANOTHER RECRUITMENT ACTIVITY THAT WE HAVE, NOT JUST FOR OUR TEACHERS, BUT ALSO FOR ADMINISTRATORS, IS A FUTURE PRINCIPAL PATHWAY.

IN FUTURE PRINCIPAL PATHWAY, WE HAVE PRINCIPAL RESIDENTS WHO WORK YEAR LONG WITH CAMPUS PRINCIPALS.

THIS PROGRAM IS COMPARABLE TO STUDENT TEACHING, WHERE A STUDENT TEACHER WOULD WORK WITH A COOPERATING TEACHER.

IN THE PRINCIPAL RESIDENCY PROGRAM, WE HAVE AN ADMINISTRATOR IN TRAINING WHO WORKS WITH A CAMPUS PRINCIPAL ALL YEAR LONG.

IT DELINEATES STATEWIDE THE PERCENTAGE OF TEACHERS WHO CONSIDER LEAVING THE TEACHING PROFESSION.

IF WE LOOK 2020-'21-'22 STATEWIDE, WE SEE A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THOSE WHO ARE CONSIDERING LEAVING THE TEACHING PROFESSION.

WE KNOW SOME OF THIS IS ALSO IN RESPONSE TO THE GREAT RESIGNATION THAT HAPPENED NATIONWIDE.

BASED ON WHAT WAS HAPPENING ECONOMICALLY AND WITH COVID IN THE SITUATIONS, DELVALLE SD HAS BEEN RESPONSIVE AND RECEPTIVE FOR THIS AND HAS TRIED TO INCREASE

THE EFFORTS TO SUPPORT THE STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED IN DELVALLE ISD.

EVIDENCE HERE BY OUR DELVALLE ISD TEACHER RETENTION RATE, WHERE WE SEE THAT THE RETENTION RATE SIGNIFICANTLY WAS AT '78, '84 DIPPED BASED ON THE COVID AND THEN WE SAW THE GREAT RESIGNATION WHICH WAS EXHIBITED BACK IN '21, '22, WHERE THE DISTRICT HAD A 70% RETENTION RATE, WHICH LAST YEAR THE DISTRICT WAS ABLE TO BOUNCE BACK WITH BASED ON THEIR RETENTION EFFORTS TO INCREASE IT SIGNIFICANTLY UP TO 81%.

ONE THING TO NOTE ALSO IS THAT WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE TEACHER RETENTION DATA, THESE ARE TEACHERS WHO ARE NO LONGER WITHIN THE TEACHING PROFESSION WITHIN DELVALLE ISD.

THIS INCLUDES, THEREFORE TEACHERS WHO HAVE RETIRED.

SINCE. DELVALLE ALSO OFFERS MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS TO ADVANCE IN AREAS OF ADMINISTRATION AS WELL AS INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING.

THIS DATA ALSO INCLUDES THOSE TEACHERS WHO ARE STILL WITHIN THE DISTRICT, HOWEVER, IN A DIFFERENT PROFESSIONAL ROLE.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PERCENTAGE OF TEACHERS WITH EXPERIENCE, DR.

RUSH PRESENTED DATA COMPARABLE TO THIS EARLIER.

WE SAY THAT EXPERIENCED TEACHERS ARE THOSE WHO ARE DEFINED AS THOSE HAVING MORE THAN SIX YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS GRAPH ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE DELINEATES THE NUMBER OF TEACHERS WITH 0-5 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

THE LEFT HAND SIDE, DELINEATED BY THAT SOLID BLACK LINE, DELINEATES THE PERCENTAGE OF THOSE HAVING MORE THAN EXPERIENCE.

WE RECOGNIZE THAT DELVALLE HAS MORE VETERAN TEACHERS THAN BEGINNING TEACHERS.

THIS IS A PROGRAM THAT IS HIGHLIGHTED WITHIN DELVALLE ISD AND IT IS NOW REPRODUCED IN OTHER DISTRICTS.

AS WE'VE HEARD BEFORE, THIS IS SPECIFIC TO TEACHERS, IT'S SPECIFIC TO PARAPROFESSIONALS, IT'S SPECIFIC TO ALL DIFFERENT STAFF, WHERE THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A WEEK OFF IN THE FALL, WHERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY WHERE WE CAN DECOMPRESS, HAVE SOME MENTAL HEALTH, TO GO AHEAD AND REGROUP AND HAVE FOUR DAYS AMONGST OUR COLLEAGUES WHERE WE CAN HAVE INTENSE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WHICH IS ALSO ALIGNED TO WHAT THE NEEDS ARE OF THE STAFF.

IT'S SCAFFOLD AS WELL BASED ON THOSE WHO ARE EXPERIENCED AND THOSE WHO ARE NOVICE, WHICH IS LED BY OUR STAFF AS WELL.

AS NOTED EARLIER, NOT ONLY IS THIS FOR THE STAFF WITHIN DELVALLE ISD, BUT IT ALSO INCLUDES OUR STUDENT TEACHERS, WHICH IS A RECRUITING TOOL THAT WE USE.

THE SECOND HALF OF THESE DAYS ARE DESCRIBED IN FEBRUARY, WHERE A COUPLE OF DAYS WHICH ARE FLANKED ON PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKEND, WHERE ONCE AGAIN, ALL STAFF IS ABLE TO GROUP, BECOME AGITATED BASED ON TOPICS THAT ARE RESPONSIVE TO THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS AND OUR STAFF.

ANOTHER FOCAL POINT OF DELVALLE ID IS THAT THE HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM WORKS DILIGENTLY WITH ADMINISTRATIVE TEAMS. THEY WORK WITH THE ADMINISTRATIVE TEAMS TO HELP THEM PREPARE, TO RETAIN, AS WELL AS TO INTERVIEW AND MARKET WHAT DELVALLE ISD HAS IN ORDER TO MAKE IT A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE WANT TO BE.

THAT INCLUDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND TRAINING, AND SUPERVISION AND DOCUMENTATION.

STRATEGIC STAFFING, BEST HIRING PRACTICES, STRONG CAMPUS ON BOARDING, AND SUPPORT NEW TEACHERS, AND THE INTANGIBLE RECRUITING TEACHERS WITH IT.

WE WORK COLLECTIVELY IN DELVALLE ISD TO IDENTIFY WHAT TYPE OF STAFF ARE WE LOOKING TO RECRUIT AND RETAIN WITHIN DELVALLE ISD.

THE COMPONENT IS THAT ORGANIC, THE NON TANGIBLE, THAT PEOPLE BRING TO THE DISTRICT, RECOGNIZING IT'S A GOOD FIT FOR OUR STUDENTS AND FOR THEM.

WE WON, AS NOTED BEFORE, TO BRING IN HIGH QUALITY STAFF.

HIGH QUALITY STAFF ARE THOSE WHO COME WITH THE IT FACTOR, AND I WANT TO COMMEND MS. WALLACE DEVELOPING CAPACITY WITH NOT ONLY HER TEAM, BUT A DISTRICT WIDE TEAM TO SAY THIS IS GOING TO BE A GOOD FIT FOR OUR KIDS.

AS NOTED EARLIER ALSO DELVALLE ISD HAS A HIGHLY COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION PACKAGE.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE PERCENTAGE OF SALARY INCREASES, AS JASON HAS NOTED OVER THE PAST YEARS, THE DISTRICT BOARD SPEARHEADING AGGRESSIVE RAISES THAT DR. TIELLE ADMINISTRATION HAVE BROUGHT FORWARD.

AS A REMINDER, ON THE 2021 SCHOOL YEAR, THOSE WITH 1-5 YEARS HAD A 7% RAISE INCREASE.

WHERE THOSE WITH MORE THAN SIX YEARS HAD A 9% SALARY INCREASE.

'21, '22 ACROSS THE BOARD,

ALL STAFF RECEIVED A 6% INCREASE.

'22, '23 YEAR WAS DIFFERENTIATED WITH A 7% FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF AND A 4% RAISE FOR ADMINISTRATORS.

THIS PAST YEAR, THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED ANOTHER 6% RAISE FOR THE CURRENT '23, '24 SCHOOL YEAR.

I THINK WHEN WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE COMPENSATION PACKAGE THAT THE DELVALLE ISD HAS TO OFFER, MOST OF THE TIME, PEOPLE WILL DEFAULT TO THEIR SALARIES.

HOWEVER, WHAT DELVALLE ISD ALSO OFFERS IS AN EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE HEALTH CARE PACKAGE, WHICH HAS ALSO BEEN ADVANCED BY THE SCHOOL BOARD, WHICH IS A $500 DISTRICT ABUTION HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN, WHICH COVERS 100% OF THOSE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE JUST SEEKING HEALTH INSURANCE FOR THEMSELVES.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, IF ONE ELECTS, THE DISTRICT WILL CONTRIBUTE $124 FOR HSA.

THE DISTRICT OFFERS TWO PAY PERIODS PER MONTH WITH AN ANNUALIZED PAY, A MASTER'S DEGREE WILL RECEIVE A STIPEND OF $2,100 FOR TEACHERS AND LIBRARIANS.

THE DISTRICT ALSO OFFERS FREE BILINGUAL TEST CERTIFICATION PREPARATION, AS WELL AS REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE TESTING PROGRAM.

DISTRICT OFFERS ESL CERTIFICATION TRAINING AND TEST REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT CONSISTENTLY LOOKS AT STIPENDS COMPARABLE WITHIN THE DISTRICT AS WELL AS SURROUNDING DISTRICTS TO MAKE SURE WE RECRUIT AND RETAIN THE BEST HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF FOR OUR STUDENTS, WHICH INCLUDES SOME OF THE HIGHEST STIPENDS AROUND.

BILINGUAL TEACHERS RECEIVE A $7,000 STIPEND.

SECONDARY SCIENCE AND MATH TEACHERS RECEIVE A $3,000 STIPEND.

THE HEART TO FILL SPECIAL EDUCATION POSITIONS RECEIVE A $3,000 STIPEND, $2,000 STIPEND FOR TECHNOLOGY CURRICULUM INTEGRATION, $1,000 FOR THE DAAP STAFF, $1,000 FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT STIPEND, WHICH IS CONTINGENT ON FULFILLING THE RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH DELVALLE UNIVERSITY.

IN ADDITION, THERE ARE STIPENDS FOR DEPARTMENT CHAIRS, GRADE LEVEL LEADERS, PLC LEADS, UIL COACHES, COORDINATORS, AND TSS MENTOR TEACHERS AFTER SCHOOL LEAD TUTORING AS WELL AS MORE.

WHAT THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT ALSO WORKED ON THIS YEAR IS IDENTIFYING AN INFORMAL SURVEY, A FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT, RATHER THAN A SUMMIT OF ASSESSMENT.

RATHER THAN WAITING FOR THE END OF THE YEAR TO IDENTIFY PEOPLE PLANNED ON LEAVING, THEY IMPLEMENTED A PILOT PROGRAM WITH CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION TO ASSESS OUR STAFF MID YEAR TO SAY, ARE YOU INTERESTED? ARE YOU COMING BACK TO DELVALLE ISD FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR? AS MENTIONED, THEY'RE CONTINUOUSLY LOOKING AT INFORMATION TO SEE HOW WE CAN DO A BETTER JOB.

AS MENTIONED, HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT HAS DONE A VERY GREAT JOB DEVELOPING A CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT CYCLE AS DELINEATED ON HERE.

THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT IS CONTINUOUSLY LOOKING INFORMATION TO IDENTIFY IF RIGHT NOW WE'RE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT OR IF THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENT THAT ENTAILS CONTINUOUSLY GATHERING FEEDBACK FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES.

SHARS IT IS SHORT FOR SCHOOL HEALTH AND RELATED SERVICES AND BASICALLY WHAT IT IS IS A REIMBURSEMENT FOR ANY SERVICE, A MEDICAID, HEALTH-RELATED SERVICES THAT WE PROVIDE TO OUR STUDENTS SO WE GET A REIMBURSEMENT EVERY YEAR.

IT VARIES. WE WERE ESTIMATING GETTING A 4.2 MILLION BASED ON OUR SETTLEMENT REPORT.

HOWEVER, IN DECEMBER, WE WERE NOTIFIED OF A REDUCTION AND AN AVERAGE IS ABOUT 50% FOR THE STATE.

NOW THIS IS AFFECTING EVERY SCHOOL DISTRICT, NOT JUST DELVALLE ISC, I WANT TO STRESS THAT, AND THEY MADE SOME CHANGES TO SOME OF THE RATIOS AND FOR THE VALLE ISD, IT MEANT A 2.4 MILLION DOLLAR REDUCTION IN WHAT WE WERE ESTIMATING COLLECTING THIS YEAR.

I JUST WANTED TO BRING THAT INFORMATION SO THAT YOU'RE AWARE OF THAT.

WE HAVE DISAGREED WITH THE COST REPORT.

THAT'S THE FIRST STEP AND THEN WE WILL DISPUTE THE FINDING AND PROVIDE EITHER INFORMATION TO BACK UP WHY WE'RE DISAGREEING WITH THEM.

I KNOW IT'S HIT EVERY SCHOOL DISTRICT, SOME HAVE TO PAY MONEY BACK, AND IT'S AFFECTING EVERY BUDGET IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF TEXAS.

SO I THINK THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT FOR THE COMMUNITY IN THERE.

AGAIN, PRETTY MUCH EVERY DISTRICT IN THE STATE OF TEXAS WAS AFFECTED BY THIS, AND LIKE YOU SAID, SOME OF THEM ARE HAVING NOT ONLY ARE THEY NOT GETTING WHAT THEY WERE ANTICIPATING, BUT THEY'RE HAVING TO TAKE OUT OF THEIR POCKET TO PAY BACK BECAUSE THEY MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME REIMBURSEMENT THAT THEY HAD BEFORE.

IT IS GOING BACK TO ACTUALLY AN AUDIT OF 2011 DATA, WHICH THEY SETTLED IN 2017, AND NOW THEY'RE APPLYING THIS YEAR AND IT WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT THE DISTRICT WAS NOTIFIED.

WE HAD HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT IT BUT IN DECEMBER WE RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION.

WE HAVE DISAGREED, WHICH IS THE FIRST STEP, LIKE I MENTIONED.

THEN WE ARE ALSO IN THE PROCESS OF SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE WITH THE SAME FIRM THAT REPRESENTED SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITH THE ACCOUNTABILITY RATING.

SO WE ARE LOOKING INTO THAT AS WELL.

>> THAT LAW FIRM IS BEGINNING TO REACH OUT TO DISTRICTS TO SEE IF THERE IS ACTUAL GROUNDS FOR A LAWSUIT SIMILAR TO THE ACCOUNTABILITY ONE.

I FEEL LIKE IT'S A REALLY GOOD THING THAT PEOPLE DON'T HEAR ENOUGH ABOUT, IS THAT WE'RE SPENDING MOST OF OUR RESOURCES EVEN MORE THAN THE STATE AVERAGE ON INSTRUCTION.

THAT'S SOMETHING TO APPLAUD IN AND OF ITSELF.

NOW, IT WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS VERY PUBLICIZED DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION HOW UNDERFUNDED OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM IS, AND ON TOP OF THAT, INSTEAD OF GETTING THE FUNDING THAT WE WERE ANTICIPATING OR HAD BEEN DISCUSSED WHEN WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY ADJUSTMENTS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION OR REALLY ANY OTHER PROGRAM ASIDE FROM THE SMALL AMOUNT THAT WE RECEIVE AS AN ADJUSTMENT FOR THE HIRING OF THE POLICE OFFICERS, WE END UP GETTING A LOSS.

WITH THAT REQUIREMENT, SO WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY ADDITIONAL FUNDING EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN VERY PUBLIC HOW UNDERFUNDED THE PROGRAM IS AND THEY FURTHER GOING, WE LOSE THIS FUNDING.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE DON'T ANTICIPATE HAVING TO MAKE ANY CHANGES AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH IN THE PREVIOUS SLIDE I HAD PRESENTED THAT WE HAD BUDGETED A DEFICIT, WE DON'T ANTICIPATE THAT REAL.

THAT'S SOMETHING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH, THEIR FULL FUNDING WAS 40% WHEN THE BILL WAS PASSED, AND THINK OF 1972.

THEY'VE NEVER FULLY FUNDED IT.

THE DISTRICTS HAVE ALWAYS HAD TO PICK UP WHATEVER WE ARE REQUIRED TO DO THE SERVICES, WHICH WE'RE HAPPY AND PROUD TO DO, BECAUSE I THINK WE DO A GOOD JOB IN DELVALLE OF PROVIDING THE SERVICES.

BUT THAT'S WHERE WE STAND WITH A LOT OF THIS AND NOW THIS IS JUST ANOTHER HIT TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN TEXAS.

THE STATE UNDERFUNDS US AND NOW THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS ALWAYS UNDERFUNDED US IN THE SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM.

>> THAT'S CORRECT. ACTUALLY, WHEN WE LOOK AT EVEN IN OUR STATE FUNDING, WHEN WE LOOK AT THE PROGRAM BREAKDOWN, WE RECEIVE DIFFERENT ALLOTMENTS.

WE RECEIVE THE STATE BILINGUAL KOREAN TECHNOLOGY.

FOR THESE PROGRAMS WE RECEIVE X NUMBER AND WE ARE REQUIRED TO SPEND A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE, 55% INCLUDING SPECIAL EDUCATION.

IT'S ALSO AT 55%.

THAT IS THE ONLY PROGRAM THAT WE GO ABOVE AND SPEND EVERYTHING.

WE'RE NOT ALLOWED TO KEEP THAT 45% TO SPEND IN OTHER PROGRAMS FOR GENERAL EDUCATION.

THAT IS THE ONLY PROGRAM THAT ALL OF IT GETS SPENT IN SPECIAL ED AND WE END UP SUBSIDIZING.

THAT'S A LITTLE BIT OF AN UPDATE THERE.

WHEN IT COMES TO THE PROCESS AND THE TIMELINE OF WHEN WE'RE HOPING TO GET THINGS MOVING, IT IS ACTUALLY ALREADY MOVING.

THE COMMITTEE MET WITH GIBSON AND WE SPOKE THROUGH WHAT IT IS THAT WE'RE LOOKING TO ACCOMPLISH WITH THE DIFFERENT SURVEYS, WHETHER IT WOULD BE THE PARENTS, THE STAFF, THE STUDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY.

WE TALKED THROUGH SPECIFIC TOPICS WE'RE WANTING TO COVER.

NOW THEY'RE GOING BACK AND THEY'RE REVIEWING THAT INFORMATION AND GOING TO COME UP WITH SOME QUESTIONS BASED ON THEIR RESEARCH, BASED ON THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED IN THE PAST, THEIR EXPERTISE.

THAT'S WHY WE'RE HIRING THEM.

THEY'RE GOING TO COME BACK WITH SOME QUESTIONS TO THE COMMITTEE AND THEN THE COMMITTEE IS GOING TO HAVE TO REVIEW THOSE, GIVE THEIR FEEDBACK.

WE CAN REWARD THEM AS WE WANT, TAKE SOME OFF, ADD SOME NEW ONES, THAT KIND OF THING, ALL UNDER THEIR GUIDANCE.

BECAUSE IF WE SAY MAYBE WE WANT SOMETHING WORDED A CERTAIN WAY, THEY COULD COME BACK AND SAY, WELL, ACTUALLY THAT'S PROBABLY NOT THE BEST WAY TO AIM.

AT THAT TIME WHEN WE RECEIVE THAT INFORMATION, WE ARE PLANNING TO SEND THAT TO THE ENTIRE BOARD SO THAT YOU CAN REVIEW AND SEE WHAT IT IS.

THE ONLY THING THAT I WOULD ADD IS THAT A LOT OF THE CONVERSATION HAS BEEN FOCUSED ON THAT LONG FORM SURVEY, BUT THAT'S NOT THE ONLY THING THAT WE'VE TALKED ABOUT.

IT'S JUST THAT THAT'S THE BIGGEST PRIORITY RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WE'RE TRYING TO GET A BASELINE FOR THIS YEAR.

SO THAT WAY IN THE FUTURE YEARS, A LOT OF THE DATA THAT THEY'RE GOING TO PROVIDE TO US CAN BE USED TO HELP WITH METRICS AND THINGS LIKE THAT FOR THE DISTRICT PROGRESS MONITORING AND ALL THAT STUFF.
