THANK YOU FOR THE TIME TODAY TO SPEAK ON SOME OF MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE DISTRICT.

I AM A FORMER GRADUATE HERE OF THE DVISD AND I HAVE THREE YOUNGER SIBLINGS WHO ARE ALL CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE DISTRICT AT SECONDARY LEVEL SCHOOLS.

I WANTED TO COME BEFORE YOU ALL TODAY TO SPEAK ABOUT SOME OF MY CONCERNS AND SOME QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THE STUDENTS ACROSS THE DISTRICT, NOT JUST MY KIDS, BUT A LOT OF THE KIDS IN THE DISTRICT.

WHEN I GRADUATED, I GRADUATED UNDER SUPERINTENDENT KELLY CROW AND SINCE SHE HAS LEFT, A LOT HAS CHANGED IN THE DISTRICT.

SOME THINGS FOR THE BETTER, BUT OTHER THINGS I BELIEVE HAVE NOT BEEN FOR THE BEST.

UPON MY YEARS OF ATTENDING DVISD SECONDARY LEVEL SCHOOLS, TRAVIS COUNTY, SR ROWS WERE PRESENT AND AVAILABLE ACROSS THE SCHOOL IN OVER THE PAST YEARS THIS HAS CHANGED TO THE NEW DVB.

ALTHOUGH I RESPECT EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS TAKEN ON TWO POSITIONS WITHIN DVB AND I TRULY APPRECIATE THEM WILLING TO TAKE ON THAT ROLE.

I CANNOT SEE THE BENEFIT IN REMOVING TRAVIS COUNTY AND REPLACING THEM WITH THE DVB.

I FEEL THIS HAS BEEN THE MAIN CAUSE OF AN INCREASE IN BOTH SAFETY CONCERNS AND ISSUES ACROSS THE DISTRICT BECAUSE DVB IS NOT GRANTED THE SAME PERMISSIONS THAT ARE TRAVIS COUNTY SR ROWS WHERE.

I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP IN A PREVIOUS MEETING AND THE LAST TIME IT WAS DISMISSED AND JUST SAID THAT DVB DOES HAVE ALL OF THE SAME PERMISSIONS.

BUT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH NUMEROUS STAFF MEMBERS INCLUDING DVD OFFICERS ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

NONE, OF COURSE, WHO I WILL NAME BUT WHO HAVE OPENLY SAID THAT DVB DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME PERMISSIONS.

THEY ARE NOT GRANTED PERMISSIONS UNLESS ADMINISTRATION ON CAMPUS GRAND SET PERMISSIONS, PERMISSION ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS.

SO I GUESS MY MAIN QUESTION IS, WHO THEN IS INCORRECT? WOULD IT BE THE DV OFFICERS WHO ARE SAYING THEY DO NOT HAVE ONE MINUTE, WHO ARE SAYING THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PERMISSIONS, OR ARE WE BEING LIED TO BY ADMINISTRATION AND BY BOARD MEMBERS? IF DVD IS REQUIRED TO WAIT, THEN THERE'S A DELAY IN PROTECTION OF THE CHILDREN OF OUR DISTRICT AND IT MAKES NO SENSE TO HAVE A DEPARTMENT THAT CAN'T ACT IMMEDIATELY TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN.

CHILDREN ARE SKIPPING CLASSES AND SEEING,

WANDERING AROUND CAMPUS OR OFF SITE MORE THAN I HAVE EVER SEEN, DRUG USE HAS BEEN SEEN ACROSS SCHOOLS, INCLUDING OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS, AND MINIMAL ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN.

BYTES THAT HAVE NEARLY CAUSED CHILDREN THEIR LIVES HAVE HAPPENED ACROSS THE DISTRICT IN DVB IT WASN'T EVEN VISIBLE OR ANYWHERE IN SIGHT.

CHILDREN AND STAFF DON'T EVEN FEEL SAFE AT SCHOOLS ANYMORE.

I'VE HEARD KIDS SAY THAT THERE IS NO SECURITY ON THEIR CAMPUS.

WHAT MAKES ME EVEN MORE CONCERNED IS THAT THERE ARE ADULTS, TEACHERS, SUBS, SECURITY PERSONNEL, WHO HAVE ALSO BEEN QUESTIONED AND INVESTIGATED AND GET NO RESULTS HAVE BEEN YIELDED.

HOW WAS IT THAT ADULTS THAT WORK FOR THE DISTRICT AREN'T EVEN BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE?

BEEN IN THE DISTRICT WHEN WE USED TO GET TURKEY SANDWICHES AT TOM GROWTH.

I APPRECIATE THE NEW DEVELOPMENTS AT EASTON PARK AND WHISPER VALLEY.

I AM CERTAIN THAT THE DISTRICT'S MISSION AND VISION IS OUR CORE.

WITH THAT FIRST, I FEEL COMPELLED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT AS AN EMPLOYEE, I UNDERSTAND THE CIRCUMSTANCES IN ADDRESSING THE BOARD, BUT ALSO AS AN UNCLE, AS A BROTHER, AS A RESPONSIBLE MEMBER OF OUR EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY, I FEEL COMPELLED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT AT THIS POINT, WE, AS A GROUP OR COMMUNITY, SOMETIMES WE HAVE PARENT MEETINGS AND SOME PEOPLE COME TO.

WE AS A GROUP, HAVE LOST THE FOCUS FROM STUDENT-CENTERED RESPONSES, AND THAT'S NOT A REFLECTION ON ANY PARTICULAR PERSON.

THAT'S SIMPLY THE REALITY THAT WE HAVE FACED PAST YEAR.

AS WE HAVE STRAYED FROM THAT RESPONSIBILITY OF EDUCATIONAL VALUE AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT, I WANT TO EXPRESS MY DEEP APPRECIATION FOR EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY, EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE TEAM, EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE BOARD.

BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE HAVE STAFF, WE HAVE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, WE HAVE COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

WE HAVE BUSINESSES THAT HAVE A VESTED INTERESTS IN OUR DISTRICT, MISSION, AND VISION.

THAT'S THE PURPOSE OF MY STATEMENT THIS EVENING.

IT'S NOT JUST THE STATEMENT AS THE DISTRICT MISSION AND VISION, BUT AS A CORE VALUE.

IT IS THE GUIDING PRINCIPLE THAT WE SAY EACH DAY.

HOW DO WE PROVIDE SERVICES AND SUPPORT TO THE DISTRICT? HOW DO WE PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY UNDER OUR LEADERSHIP MOVE FORWARD? THAT IS THE QUESTION THAT I ASK OF ALL OF US IS FOR US TO REFLECT ON THE OPPORTUNITY TO CENTER OURSELVES AROUND THE MISSION AND VISION, AND IN EDUCATION WE SOMETIMES PAUSE, THIS IS A TIME TO PAUSE AND REFLECT.

BUT IT IS ALSO AN OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE WATCHING.

OUR COMMUNITY IS COUNTING ON US, AND WITHOUT FAIL, WE ARE.

THE CENTRAL REASON THAT STUDENTS SUCCEED OR FAIL IS THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES HERE IN THE DISTRICT? AS A PROUD ALUMNI, I AM THANKFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE HAVE TO SERVE AND CONTINUE THE PERPETUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR EDUCATION WITH THE SUPPORT OF EVERYONE.

I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IN MIND AS WE MOVE FORWARD TO THE END OF THE SEMESTER BECAUSE WE'RE ALL LOOKING FOR THAT BREAK, THAT WINTER BREAK.

I'M REFERRING TO THE POSSIBLE AGREEMENT BETWEEN DEL VALLEY ISD AND THE TEXAS WORKFORCE HOUSING FOUNDATION.

THEN ASKING ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

I AM GLAD THAT YOU ALL ARE TAKING THE TIME TO DO THE RESEARCH AND SEE HOW THIS WOULD BE SUSTAINABLE AND HELP WITH RETENTION OF STAFF AND RECRUITING POTENTIAL STAFF.

I WOULD ALSO ASK FOR YOU ALL TO LOOK CAREFULLY INTO THE CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION FOR DISTRICT EMPLOYEES.

I SHARED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH YOU ALL NOT TO FEEL SORRY FOR ME.

BUT RADICAL WAY THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES FOR DIFFERENT FAMILIES.

THEREFORE, THIS SHOULD BE DIFFERENT CRITERIA.

THE CRUSADER FOR QUALIFYING FOR SUCH A PROGRAM IS GOING TO BE KEY.

DEL VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN, ALAINA HIDALGO AND HER MOTHER, SMITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER, JEANETTE RANGEL, TESTIFIED IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN FRONT OF THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY AND ENRICHMENT SELECT COMMITTEE AT THE TEXAS STATE CAPITAL ON NOVEMBER 9TH.

THE COMMITTEE HEARD FROM PANELS AND THE PUBLIC ON HP1, WHICH INCLUDED THE PROPOSED VOUCHER PROGRAM AND PUBLIC SCHOOL FUNDING.

IN HER TESTIMONY, ALAINA CALLED OUT LAWMAKERS FOR INTERTWINING SCHOOL FUNDING WITH RAISES AND VOUCHERS, WHICH WOULD ULTIMATELY TAKE AWAY FUNDING FROM THE PUBLIC.

SHE SHARED THAT HER OWN EXPERIENCE OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAD SUPPORTED HER DYSLEXIA AND HELPED HER SUCCEED NOW BEING IN AP CLASSES.

SHE ALSO PLAYED WITH LAWMAKERS TO PREVENT TURNING EDUCATION INTO A BUSINESS BY INTRODUCING VOUCHERS.

SAYING, "IN MY EYES, BY GIVING VOUCHERS, YOU ARE SAYING, EDUCATION IS A BUSINESS.

SCHOOLS HAVE TO COMPETE AGAINST EACH OTHER TO ATTRACT PARENTS AND STUDENTS.

WE'RE NOT A BUSINESS, WE ARE THE FUTURE." MS. FRIEND GALE REFERRED TO HER EXPERIENCE IN DB ISD AS A DUAL LANGUAGE TEACHER AT WITNESSING GROWTH OF YOUNG STUDENTS IN HER CLASS, THAT SHE HAS EXPERIENCED AND THROUGH THEIR TIME IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

SHE ALSO HIGHLIGHTED SMITH ELEMENTARY IS A RATING FROM TEA TO DEMONSTRATE THAT WHAT HAS BEEN SHARED ABOUT PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS NOT ACCURATE.

WE ARE PROUD TO SAY ON NOVEMBER 17TH, THE TEXAS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES VOTED TO REMOVE THE VOUCHER PROPOSAL FROM HP1.

TONIGHT WE RECOGNIZE ALAINA AND JEANNETTE FOR THEIR COURAGE AND SPEAKING OUT IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION, IN FRONT OF A COMMITTEE OF LAWMAKERS AND FOR SHARING THE POSITIVE DEL VALLEY ISD STORY TO A STATEWIDE AUDIENCE. THANK YOU.

THIS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD RECOGNIZES VISUAL ART PROGRAMS FOR EXCELLENCE ACROSS A RIGOROUS 14 POINT RUBRIC AND AREAS SUCH AS PARTICIPATION AND CONTESTS AND EXHIBITS TO COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THROUGH FIELD EXPERIENCES AND COMMUNITY SERVICE TO COLLABORATION WITH CONTENT AREAS OUTSIDE OF THE VISUAL ARTS.

OUT OF 1,200 ELIGIBLE DISTRICTS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, ONLY 68 RECEIVE THIS HONOR.

THOSE PLACES, DEL VALLEY ISD VISUAL ARTS PROGRAMS, AND THE TOP 6% AND THE STATE FOR VISUAL ARTS ACHIEVEMENT.

AS WE PROCEED WITH THE NEXT AGENDA ITEM, A STRATEGIC PLAN, WE WERE GENERALLY HAD IDEAS THAT WE CAN SHOWCASE TO OUR COMMUNITY, DIFFERENT CONCEPTS, THE EVIDENCE THAT SUPPORTS THE PROGRESS THAT WE, COLLECTIVELY, ARE WORKING ON OUR STRATEGIC PLAN AS WELL.

THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM IS EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE AT PUSHING COMMUNICATION OUT.

IT'S MY PLEASURE HERE TO TALK TO THE SCHOOL BOARD AND THE COMMUNITY AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ABOUT THE CONTINUED ADVANCEMENTS AND DEVELOPMENT THAT WE'VE HAD WITH OUR STRATEGIC PLAN.

A LITTLE HISTORICAL CONTEXT IS THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS STARTED WITH THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IN 2020, WHEN THE BOARD IDENTIFIED AREAS OF FOCUS FOR THE STRATEGIC PLAN AND A TIMELINE.

AN UPDATED DISTRICT MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT WAS COMPLETED BY THE BOARD IN DECEMBER OF 2020 AND OFFICIALLY ADOPTED BY A BOARD VOTE AND MARCH 2021.

IN FEBRUARY OF 2021, THE STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE COMPRISED OF STUDENTS, TEACHERS, STAFF, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, PARENTS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS, STARTED DEVELOPMENT OF GOALS FOR THE PLAN USING FOCUSED AREAS THAT WERE IDENTIFIED BY THE SCHOOL BOARD.

THESE SUB-COMMITTEES WORKED ON THE GOALS, AND AS A RESULT, THEIR WORK WAS PRESENTED TO THE SCHOOL BOARD IN APRIL OF 2021.

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES PROVIDED FEEDBACK TO THE ADMINISTRATION ON THE FOCUS AREA GOALS FOLLOWING THAT MEETING.

WITH APPROPRIATE REVISIONS MADE, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES VOTED TO ADOPT THE STRATEGIC PLAN IN JUNE OF 2021.

SINCE THEN, SUPERINTENDENT DR. TELLY HAS SPEARHEADED THE DISTRICT, ADDRESSING AND ADVANCING THESE FOUR GOALS AND ASSOCIATED SUCCESS MEASURES.

IN RESPONSE TO DR. TELLY ENERGIZING, CHALLENGING, AND LEADING THE DISTRICT BY EXAMPLE, SIGNIFICANT EVIDENCE HAS BEEN GENERATED SUPPORTING THAT ALL STUDENTS, FAMILIES, AND STAFF HAVE BEEN SUPPORTED THROUGH THESE ENDEAVORS.

ALL OF YOU WILL BE RECEIVING A COPY OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN, WHICH DELINEATES THE DATA SUPPORTED DOCUMENTATION AND ARTIFACTS OF THESE STUDENT-CENTERED, FAMILY-CENTERED, STAFF CENTERED, AND COMMUNITY-CENTERED ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE, AS I MENTIONED EARLIER, THAT ALL ASPECTS OF THE VIDEO THAT WAS SHOWN ALSO ALIGNED TO ALL COMPONENTS OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN.

TONIGHT, WE WILL BE PRESENTING A HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW OF ACHIEVEMENTS MADE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING EXAMPLES.

AS NOTED, MONTHLY, WE WILL ALSO BE HAVING DEPARTMENTS PRESENT WITH THEIR UPDATES TO THE TRAGIC PLAN, STARTING IN JANUARY WITH MS. WALLACE AND THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE STRATEGIC PLANS, STARTING OFF WITH THE MISSION AND VISION THAT WAS ADOPTED, OUR VISION IS TO CREATE A BI-LAYERED, CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE, ENHANCED ACADEMIC FOUNDATION BY PROVIDING A FUTURE READY EDUCATION WITH REAL-WORLD OPPORTUNITIES, AND THE MISSION IS TO EMPOWER OUR STUDENTS TO BE CRITICAL THINKERS AND INNOVATIVE WORLD-CLASS VISIONARIES, SOMETHING THAT BOARD HAD ADOPTED YEARS AGO.

THERE WERE FOUR GOALS, AS I MENTIONED, THAT WERE IDENTIFIED IN THE STRATEGIC PLAN, AND THIS IS JUST SIMPLE ARTIFACTS, SAMPLE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE PROGRESS THAT HAS BEEN MADE.

GOAL ONE IDENTIFIED WAS TO INCREASE STUDENT ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE THROUGH INCLUSIVITY, FIDELITY, CONSISTENCY, EQUITY, AND OPPORTUNITY.

ONE THING THAT WE'RE EXCITED TO CONTINUE TO PROMOTE IS BACK IN 2017, AS NOTED ON THE SLIDE, THE DISTRICT HAD A STATE RATING NUMBER OF 67, WHICH WAS ASCRIBED TO A D. IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENTS THAT OUR STUDENTS HAVE MADE BASED ON THE SUPPORT PROVIDED THROUGH THEM AND SCAFFOLDING, WE'VE NOW ADVANCED INTO THE 80S RANGE TO BE A B-RATED DISTRICT.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS THAT WERE ALSO ACHIEVED, THE TIME IS BACK IN 2020, WE HAVE AN EXTREMELY INTENSIVE CURRICULUM WRITING TEAM THAT DEVELOPS CURRICULUM BASED ON OUR STUDENTS AND OUR STUDENTS NEEDS, REFLECTING ON DATA TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR CURRICULUM IS RESPONSIVE TO DEL VALLEY STUDENTS, WHICH MAY HAVE A DIFFERENT ASPECT OR NEED THAN OTHER STUDENTS MAY HAVE IN THE STATE OR IN OTHER REGIONS.

THE TEAM ALSO MOVED FORWARD WITH A DAILY 6.

ALIGNED TO RESPONSIVE TEACHING, DEL VALLEY UNIVERSITY GOT IMPLEMENTED IN 2022 AND NOW WE'RE PREPARING OUR STUDENTS FOR THE NEW STAR ASSESSMENT, ALSO KNOWN AS STAR 2.0.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT OUR STUDENTS HAVE MADE, ALIGN TO BOLD ONE, WE'LL SEE THE NUMBERS IN PARENTHESES.

THOSE ALIGN TO SPECIFIC PROGRESS MEASURES THAT ARE ALIGNED ALSO UNDERNEATH OR ASSOCIATED WITH THE GOAL.

ALIGNED WITH 1.1A, WE CONTINUE TO COLLABORATE THE ET DANA CENTER, HIGHLIGHTING, WITHIN DEL VALLEY ISD, WHICH HAS BECOME A MODEL AND REPRODUCED IN OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN CENTRAL TEXAS.

THIS, MOST IMPORTANTLY, HAS RESULTED IN LITERACY GAINS FROM OUR STUDENTS, BOTH MONOLINGUAL ENGLISH SPEAKERS AND MONOLINGUAL SPANISH SPEAKERS.

WE'VE ALSO SCALED OUR DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM, WHICH WE RECOGNIZE THE DISTRICT HAS HAD MULTIPLE ITERATIONS OVER THE YEARS.

FINALLY LANDING ON WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR STUDENTS ARE DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM.

WE STARTED OFF WITH THEM IMPLEMENTING IN THE EARLY GRADES WITHIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND WE'RE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT IT HAS NOW EXPANDED UP THROUGH SEVENTH GRADE THIS PAST YEAR.

WE RECOGNIZE OUR LIBRARY AND SIGNIFICANTLY IN THIS DISTRICT AND THE BOARD RECOGNIZED.

LET'S GO AHEAD AND ADVANCE, EXPAND LITERACY COMPONENTS THAT WE HAVE WITHIN OUR LIBRARIES.

THANKS TO DONATIONS AND GRANTS, WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO ALLOCATE ABOUT $289,000 THROUGH A VARIETY OF GRANTS TO DIVERSIFY OUR LIBRARY CONNECTIONS.

ONCE AGAIN, A SIGNIFICANT GOAL IDENTIFIED BY THE BOARD AND THOSE ON THE TASK FORCE AS WELL.

GOAL 2, IS TO DEVELOP A SYSTEM TO MAXIMIZE OPPORTUNITIES BASED ON STUDENT-DRIVEN GOALS IN ORDER TO ADAPT AND CONNECT TO A CHANGING WORLD BY INCREASING COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE FIRST HALF OF THE GRAPH, WE SEE CCMR, COLLEGE CAREER, AND MILITARY READINESS, AND WE'VE ADVANCED FROM 69% IN 2020 UP TO 85%.

SOME OF US ARE NOTING THAT THERE'S A DIP IN-BETWEEN, WHICH IS REFLECTIVE OF THE COVID YEARS WHERE OUR STUDENTS WERE NOT ABLE TO ENGAGE IN ON-HAND EXPERIENCES, ALIGNING THEM TO BE DENOTED THEIR CERTIFICATIONS OR THE COLLEGE CAREER AND MILITARY READINESS.

BUT WE SIGNIFICANTLY WENT FROM 69%- 85% ARE CERTIFICATIONS THAT WE RECEIVE OUR STUDENTS RECEIVE, I SHOULD SAY, WHEN FROM 339 UP TO 564, WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR THE STATE TO CALCULATE THAT FORMALIZED DATA FOR US TO GET THE NUMBERS FOR 2023.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION, WHICH IS ALSO UNDER GOAL 2, WE'VE INCREASED FROM 835 UP TO 1,025.

ONCE AGAIN, WE DON'T HAVE OUR SPRING SPORTS YET, BUT WE DON'T HAVE A NUMBER YET OF HOW MANY ATHLETES QUALIFY ACTUALLY FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION.

SIMILARLY, WE SEE THE FINE ARTS PARTICIPATION, ALSO DENOTED IN GOAL 2 SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASING FROM 1,700-2,100 WITH OUR HIGH SCHOOL PARTICIPATION.

OTHER KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ONCE AGAIN, JUST A FRACTION OF WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO FIND IN THAT 200-PAGE BOOK IS THAT WE'VE EXPANDED OUR SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT.

WE'VE INTRODUCED A PROGRAM CALLED SECOND STEP AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, MIDDLE SCHOOLS, AND HE'S EVER PHI OVER AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.

WE'VE ALSO ADDED BASED ON SR FUNDS, SOCIAL WORKERS TO EVERY CAMPUS, AND WE'VE ALSO INCLUDED OUR LCDCS, LICENSED CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY COUNSELORS TO THE HIGH SCHOOLS AS WELL IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, ONCE AGAIN, BASED ON OUR STUDENT NEEDS.

ALSO ALIGNED TO GOAL 2, WE'VE INCREASED OUR STUDENT INTERNSHIPS AND TECHNOLOGY TRIPLE FOLD FROM 11 IN 2021 TO 30 CURRENTLY.

WE'VE ALSO INCREASED OUR THERAPEUTIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS, WHICH ARE RESPONSIVE AND REFLECTIVE TO OUR STUDENT NEEDS.

NOTE IT UP, THERE'S A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES PROJECT MALES TEACH AT CON MI MADRE.

2.5A, WE'VE ALIGNED OUR ATHLETIC SKILLS WITHIN OUR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM THROUGH OUR LEAD PROGRAM, ALIGNING IT WITH HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS.

THE FIRST TIME OUR STUDENTS GET ON A FIELD OR PRACTICE IN 9TH GRADE, IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THEY KNOW OUR SKILLS ARE OUR DRILLS.

WE WORKED HARD TO DATE AND TIGHTEN THE PROGRAM AND ALIGN INTO BOTH ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL.

WRAPPING IT UP WITH OUR FINE ARTS PROGRAM IS WE WILL BE PILOTING AN ORCHESTRA PROGRAM IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS THIS UPCOMING JANUARY, AS WELL AS DEVELOPING ORCHESTRA COURSES IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE UPCOMING '24 OR '25 SCHOOL YEAR.

I'M GOING TO STOP FOR A SECOND SO WE CAN APPLAUD AND I CAN TAKE A BREAK [LAUGHTER] THESE ARE GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS HERE, AND IT'S GREAT TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT AND I'M HONORED TO.

GOAL 3 IS DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING EQUITABLE FACILITIES, STAFFING, AND INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES THAT MEET THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF ALL OF OUR STUDENTS.

THAT INCLUDES OUR EQUITABLE FACILITIES WHERE WE CAN TAKE A LOOK AT 2020, WE IMPLEMENTED PROTOCOLS, WE THEN INITIATED FACILITIES PLANS, WE UPGRADED FOR EXISTING BUILDINGS.

IN 2022, WE OPEN TO NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, HORNSBY, DUNLAP SMITH ELEMENTARY, ON THE SAME TERRAIN WHERE THEY PREVIOUSLY LOCATED,

AS WELL AS PURCHASE LAND TO SUPPORT NEW CAMPUSES.

THIS YEAR, WE'RE EXCITED TO HAVE THE GROUNDBREAKING AN OPENING OF DEL VALLE MIDDLE-SCHOOL.

WE OPENED THREE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS, BOTH NORTH, SOUTH, AND CENTRAL, IN RESPONSE TO OUR STAFF AND COMMUNITY NEEDS AND BROKE GROUND ON EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL ACROSS THE WAY, AND WE BROKE GROUND UP AND WHISPER VALLEY ON HIGH SCHOOL NUMBER 2.

STUDENT TEACHERS, ALSO REPRESENTATIVE OF MAINTENANCE EQUITABLE STAFFING, WHERE WE'VE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED BASED ON THE PARTNERSHIPS THAT OUR HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, OUR SUPERINTENDENT CNI DEPARTMENT HAS HAD WITH PROGRAMS WHICH ARE DEVELOPING STUDENT TEACHERS.

WE WENT FROM 14, FEW YEARS AGO UP TO 52 LAST YEAR.

THE REASON WE DON'T HAVE THE HARD NUMBERS FOR THIS YEAR IS BECAUSE IN THE SPRING SEMESTER IS OVER THE MAJORITY OF OUR STUDENT TEACHERS, BUT I GUARANTEE YOU THAT NUMBER IS GOING TO GO SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN THAT SEVEN WE SEE UP THERE.

OUR NEW TEACHER SALARY INCREASED ABOUT 18% FROM 49,000 IN 2020, UP TO THE CURRENT 58,000, WHICH PLACES UP TOWARDS THE HIGHEST AND THE LEADING BOARD WITHIN SCHOOL SYSTEMS WITHIN CENTRAL TEXAS SIGNIFICANT.

IF WE LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF TEACHER VACANCIES, WE HAVE GONE FROM 53 A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO DOWN TO 34 CURRENTLY.

IN PART TO THE SCHOOL BOARD ACCEPTING OUR RECOMMENDATION TO BECOME A DISTRICT OF INNOVATION, WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO DO TAKE AWAY, AND REDUCE THE NUMBER OF VACANCIES AND PROVIDE THEM WITH HIGH QUALITY AND EFFECTIVE TEACHERS.

IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT TECHNOLOGY BACK IN 2020 IS WHEN WE IMPLEMENT IT AND IT WAS QUITE NEW TO US AND SURROUNDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS, A ONE-TO-ONE DEVICE PROGRAM FOR OUR STUDENTS IN K-12.

IN 2021, WE WENT FROM THE NON-HARD DRIVE CAVITY COMPUTERS TO THE ALL-IN-ONE HARD-DRIVE COMPUTERS, WHERE THE COMPUTERS DIDN'T HAVE THE HARD DRIVE PHYSICALLY ON THE CAMPUSES, BUT THE HARD DRIVES WERE STORED HERE AT CENTRAL OFFICE.

WE TRANSITIONED TO ENSURE THAT ALL CAMPUSES HAD THE HARD DRIVE COMPUTERS DEVICES IN PLACE.

2022, WE REPLACED ALL THE PROMETHEAN SMART BOARDS AT ALL THE CAMPUSES, AND WE REFRESHED 5,500 STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS AND 1,000 MATH BOOKS.

UP TO THIS DAY IN 2023 IS WHERE WE'VE IMPLEMENTED SAFETY AND SECURITY NETWORK UPGRADES.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND THE GOAL 3 IS THAT WE IMPLEMENTED DEL VALLE UNIVERSITY WITH DIFFERENTIATED PATHWAYS FOR ALL POSITIONS.

NOT ONLY A FOCAL POINT FOR DEL VALLE ISD, BUT SERRANO DISTRICTS ALSO WANTING TO KNOW HOW WE GENERATED SOMETHING IN-HOUSE, DIVERSIFIED, AND DIFFERENTIATED FOR OUR DIVERSE STAFF.

THE SUPERINTENDENT HAS ZOOM MEETINGS BECAUSE AT 2020 WE WERE REMOTE AT INFORMATION MEETINGS, ALSO SHARED WITH COVID UPDATES WHICH INCLUDED THE BUSES, THE THERMAL CAMERAS, THE VIRTUAL MACHINES, THE ONE-ON-ONE BECAUSE WE'RE AT HOME AT THAT POINT, 2021 THE ZOOM MEETINGS CONTINUE WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT.

WE ALSO HAD THE GROWTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE THAT IDENTIFIED WHAT ARE THE NEEDS OF THE DISTRICT BEFORE WE WENT OUT FOR THAT BOND, 2022 THE SUPERINTENDENT LED THE 14TH CAMPUS MEETINGS TO DISCUSS THE BONDS WHICH RESULTED IN A SIGNIFICANT PASSING RATE AND ALSO HELD A VIRTUAL MEETING FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T ATTEND IN PERSON.

A LOCAL POLICY CSA, TO POLICY ON FACILITY SAFETY AND SECURITY, INCLUDING RECOMMENDED PROVISIONS ADDRESSING AUDITS OF BUILDING ACCESS CONTROL TO COMPLY WITH THE COMMISSIONERS NEW SCHOOL SAFETY RULES FOR FACILITIES.

THE DISTRICT IS ALREADY IMPLEMENTING THIS ONE AS WELL.

A LOCAL POLICY EHB COMPLIES WITH HOUSE BILL 3928, WHICH REQUIRES THE BOARD TO ADOPT AND IMPLEMENT A POLICY REQUIRING THE DISTRICT TO COMPLY WITH ALL RULES AND STANDARDS ADOPTED BY THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND GUIDANCE PUBLISHED BY THE COMMISSIONER THAT MEANT THAT IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM TO TEST STUDENTS FOR DYSLEXIA AND RELATED DISORDERS.

THE DISTRICT HAS ALREADY IMPLEMENTING THIS AS WELL.

SENATE BILL 68 ADDRESSES LOCAL POLICY FEA, WHICH IS RELATED TO EXCUSED ABSENCES FOR JUNIORS AND SENIORS WHO VISIT A PROFESSIONAL WORKPLACE FOR CAREER INVESTIGATION.

POLICY FFAC, RECOMMENDED REVISIONS ARE BASED ON SENATE BILL 69, WHICH REQUIRES A DISTRICT TO ADOPT A POLICY REGARDING MAINTENANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND DISPOSAL OF OPIOID ANTAGONIST AT EACH CAMPUS THAT SERVES STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-12.

THE DISTRICT IS ALREADY IMPLEMENTING THIS AS WELL.

LOCAL POLICY DEC ALIGNS WITH HOUSE BILL 471, WHICH REQUIRES A DISTRICT TO PROVIDE PAID LEAVE TO POLICE OFFICERS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PERSONNEL WHO EXPERIENCED AN ILLNESS OR INJURY RELATED TO THEIR LINE OF DUTY.
